هنأ الرئيس الروسي، فلاديمير بوتين، ورئيس وزراء روسيا، دميتري مدفيديف، رئيس الوزراء العراقي الجديد، عادل عبد المهدي، بتشكيل الحكومة العراقية.
وأفاد المكتب الإعلامي لرئيس مجلس الوزراء، بأن الرئيس الروسي أكد في برقيته إلى عبد المهدي، “حرص موسكو على تعزيز العلاقات بين البلدين الصديقين والاستمرار بدعم العراق ومواصلة التعاون المشترك لما فيه منفعة مشتركة”.
وجاء فيي بيان صدر عن المكتب، أن رئيس الحكومة الروسية مدفيديف أعرب لنظيره العراقي “عن استمرار دعم روسيا لبغداد” وأشار إلى “متانة العلاقات العراقية الروسية، متطلعا إلى مزيد من التعاون في مجالات الطاقة والتجارة والاقتصاد والثقافة”.
وتولى عبد المهدي رئاسة الحكومة العراقية في 25 من الشهر الماضي، بعد أدائه اليمين الدستورية في مجلس النواب. وفي 24 أكتوبر، عرض عبد المهدي على النواب العراقيين قائمة من المرشحين لشغل المناصب الوزارية، وافق البرلمان حتى الآن على تعيين 14 من أصل 21 وزيرا. ويتوقع أن يعقد البرلمان جلسة ثانية، في 6 نوفمبر، لتعيين باقي الوزراء، بمن فيهم وزيرا الدفاع والداخلية انتهى.
